Rep. John Fleming, R-La is worked up about a ‘same-gender private religious ceremony’ held at Ft. Polk
Republican congressional critics are denouncing what they call a ‘same-sex ceremony’ held last month at the Army’s Fort Polk training base in Louisiana.
U.S. Rep. John Fleming, R-La., said in a statement Wednesday that the ‘marriage-like’ ceremony performed for two women by an Army chaplain shouldn’t have been allowed because Louisiana law doesn’t recognize same-sex marriage or civil union.
A Fort Polk spokesman said everyone involved in the ‘same-gender private religious ceremony’ at a base chapel understood it was not a marriage ceremony.
Seems like much ado about nothing. Besides I thought the Republicans were about getting the government out of our lives, so why does Mr Fleming want to be in these two soldiers lives?
